Freshwater Fish Farming Regulations 1983

Notice Specifying Fish Species which may be Farmed (Ag. 9/2/8; Notice No. 4904)

  1. Pursuant to regulation 2 of the Freshwater Fish Farming Regulations 1983, I hereby declare the following species to be fish for the purposes of those regulations:

    (a) Abalone or Paua (Haliotis sp.);
    (b) Brine shrimp (Artemia salina);
    (c) Dredge oysters (Tiostrea lutaria);
    (d) Eels (Anguilla dieffenbachii and Anguilla australis);
    (e) Freshwater crayfish or koura (Paranephrops planifrons and Paranephrops zealandicus);
    (f) Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella);
    (g) Grey mullet (Mugil cephalus);
    (h) Paddle crab (Ovalipes catharus);
    (i) Prawns, being—
    (i) Freshwater (Macrobrachium rosenbergii);
    (ii) Marine (Penaeus monodon, Penaeus japonicus and Penaeus orientalis);
    (j) Salmon, being—
    (i) Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar);
    (ii) Quinnat salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha);
    (iii) Sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka);
    (k) Scallops (Pecten novaezelandiae);
    (l) Scampi (Metanephrops challengeri);
    (m) Silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix);
    (n) Spiny or red rock lobster (Jasus edwardsii), and packhorse or green rock lobster (Jasus verreauxi);
    (o) Western Australian freshwater crayfish or marron (Cherax tenuimanus);
    (p) Whitebait (Galaxias spp.).

  2. The notice published in the Gazette on 21 December 1988, No. 219, page 5469, declaring Fish Species Which May Be Farmed, is hereby revoked.

Clean Air Zone (Christchurch) Order 1977

Approval of Fuel Burning Equipment and Class of Fuel for Use in Clean Air Zones

Pursuant to clause 5G of the Clean Air Zone (Christchurch) Order 1977, and clause 5 of the Clean Air Zones (Canterbury Region) Order 1984, I, Helen Elizabeth Clark, Minister of Health, hereby approve from the 2nd day of May 1989 until the close of the date given below, for use in the districts of the following local authorities, namely—

Christchurch City, Eyre County, Heathcote County, Kaiapoi Borough, Paparua County, Rangiora District, Riccarton Borough and Waimairi District

the fuel burning equipment and the class of fuel for that equipment specified in the Schedule to this notice.

None of the heaters have approval to have a water heater fitted.
