TARIFF INDUSTRY ASSISTANCE (DECISION) NOTICE NO. 1989/12

Decisions of the Minister of Commerce in respect of Part I and Part II of the Tariff

1 Notice is hereby given that the following decisions have been made in respect of the goods published in the Schedules to this notice.

2 SCHEDULE 2 – Decisions cancelled. The cancellations listed in this schedule take effect fourteen days from Gazette data unless otherwise specified, eg, NEF (date).

3 SCHEDULE 3 – Limited Decisions

(a) Approvals given under Schedule 3 are restricted to the applicant for whom the approval was originally given and are not available for general use.

This Notice only serves to inform the importing/manufacturing community of the approvals existence.

(b) Schedule 3 and 4 will not be published in the Consolidated List of Decisions.

4 It should be noted that any concession or determination can be subject to amendment or cancellation by notification in the Gazette.

5 Where the month of the start date and end date is shown the day of the start date is the first day of that month and the day of the end date is the last day of that month – eg, 3/88 to 9/89 is 1/3/88 to 30/9/89

HO Chapter 84	Catalogued or identifiable parts of machines may be admitted under the Part I approval. Part II duty concession or former Section 178 approval, granted in respect of the parent machine. Catalogued or identifiable parts of machines which in their own right are entitled to duty free entry under Part I of the Tariff are also covered by this concession. This applies regardless of Tariff classification with the following exceptions:

(1) Parts of general use
(2) Any part which is the subject of a specific Determination of the Minister

(6) Parts of machines approved for entry under Part II concessions 20, 33, 60, 70, 80, 81

(10) Interchangeable tools, e.g., tool bits, saw blades, grinding wheels
(11) Tyres and tubes
(12) Electric accumulators
(13) Electric lamps and tubes
(14) Knives and cutting blades
(15) Engines
(16) Transmission shafts - flexible
