Local Government Act 1974

The Local Government (Oparara River Bridge) Notice 1989

Pursuant to sections 358 and 360 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Minister of Local Government hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Oparara River Bridge Notice 1989.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. Authorisation to construct a bridge—The Minister of Local Government, pursuant to section 360 of the Local Government Act 1974, hereby delegates his authority under section 358 of that Act to authorise the private construction of a foot bridge across the Oparara River to provide access from Fenian Road to Mr Murray C. Turley’s property at Oparara, Karamea.

  2. Authorisation to make bylaws—The Buller County Council is hereby authorised pursuant to section 360 of the Local Government Act to make bylaws in respect of the management and maintenance of the bridge as specified in section 359 (a).

Notice of Final Decision of New Zealand Geographic Board Re Assigning of Place Names

Whereas pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notices were given on the 1st day of December 1988 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the names set out in the Schedule attached to the said notices; and whereas pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, no objections have been received to such of the proposed names as are set in the Schedule hereto.

Now therefore pursuant to sections 14 and 15 of the said Act, notice is hereby given that the names set out in the Schedule hereto are final decisions of the Board and that such decisions will take effect on the 18th day of May 1989.
