Animals Act 1967

Exemption from Permit Requirements under the Animals Act 1967 (Notice No. 4333; Qual 1032-132-01)

Pursuant to section 13 (4B) of the Animals Act 1967, I hereby give notice:

  1. That I revoke Gazette notice, No. 3191; Ag 6/2/1 (New Zealand Gazette, 23 February 1984, No. 26, page 496).

  2. That I exempt all persons from the necessity of obtaining a permit under section 13 (1) (a) of the Animals Act 1967 in respect of the importation into New Zealand of cheeses manufactured in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Federal Republic of Germany, France, Holland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States of America. This exemption does not include products containing any meat product or the flesh of any species of salmonid fish.

  3. That cheeses imported into New Zealand under the authority of this notice No. 4333, must be manufactured from milk that has been pasteurised for a time and at a temperature internationally recognised as effective for the destruction of pathogenic organisms.

  4. That bulk consignments must be accompanied by a certificate indicating compliance with paragraph 3, issued by the manufacturer or appropriate governmental authority of the country of origin.

  5. That individually packaged items must either:

    (a) Be clearly labelled as being manufactured from pasteurised milk or;

    (b) Be accompanied by a certificate as per bulk consignments.

  6. That the requirements of this notice No. 4333 shall come into effect on the 15th day of May 1989.

Telecommunications Amendment Act 1988

Statement of Government Policy Relating to Telecommunications

To the Secretary of Commerce

Whereas certain provisions of the Telecommunications Amendment Act 1988 come into force on the 1st day of April 1989:

And whereas that Act provides for the removal of certain controls on who may provide telecommunications goods and services:

And whereas the Government has announced that it intends to introduce in the House of Representatives a Radiocommunications Bill providing for the creation of property rights in the use of the radio spectrum, and enabling the allocation of those rights by the Crown:

Now therefore I, David John Butcher, Minister of Commerce, acting pursuant to regulation 13 of the Radio Regulations 1987, hereby give you notice that it is part of the policy of the Government relating to telecommunications that there should be competition in telecommunications markets and that the granting of radio apparatus licences under the Telecommunications Act 1987 should promote such competition.
