Orchard Levy Act 1953

Orchard Levy Notice No. 4480; Ag, 4/54/25

Pursuant to section 2A (1) and (2) of the Orchard Levy Act 1953, the Minister of Agriculture, having regard to the recommendation of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation Ltd., sets the rate of levy at $25 per hectare, the maximum amount payable at $1,000 per orchard, and the minimum amount payable at $120 per orchard.

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Notice of Marine Mammal Permit Application

Pursuant to section 5 (5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, notice is given that

Sam Kiao, 17 Hereford Street, Porirua

Garry Shailer, 58 Avenue Road, Foxton

J. Rimene, 16 Rugby Street, Masterton (on behalf of the Te Ore Marea Committee)

have each applied to remove whalebone (and in Mr Kiao’s case also to remove whale teeth), from buried remains, for the purposes of carving.

Further details of the proposals may be obtained from: The Director of Coastal and Marine Resources, Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 10-420, Wellington.

Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this application must forward their representations in writing to reach me within 28 days of the publication of this notice.

Human Rights Commission—Appointment of Proceedings Commissioner

Pursuant to section 7 (d) of the Human Rights Commission Act 1977, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Peter Edwin Gill Hosking, the Alternate Proceedings Commissioner as a Human Rights Commissioner

to be the Proceedings Commissioner for a term of 5 years on and from 1 February 1989.

Reappointment of Members of the Legal Aid Board

Pursuant to section 4 of the Legal Aid Act 1969, the Minister of Justice has been pleased to reappoint

Alfred George Morgan-Coakle, O.B.E., barrister and solicitor of Auckland, and

Michael Ray Radford, barrister and solicitor of Dunedin

as members of the Legal Aid Board for further terms of 3 years each on and from 30 January 1989.
