His Excellency the Governor-General has released the following statement:

"An announcement has been made by the Office of the British Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street, London, that The Queen has been graciously pleased to approve that:

The Honourable Jonathan Lucas Hunt, M.P.,
Minister of Housing, Minister of Broadcasting, and Leader of the House; and

The Honourable Mr Justice (Michael) Hardie Boys,
a Judge of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand, be appointed Members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council."

Guests of Government

His Excellency Mr John Haglelgam, President of Federated States of Micronesia is expected to visit New Zealand from 17 September until 23 September.

For discussions with the New Zealand Government. He will also meet commercial firms with interests in the Federated States of Micronesia.

Right Honourable Malcolm Rifkind, Q.C., M.P., Secretary of State for Scotland, United Kingdom is expected to visit New Zealand from 16 September until 19 September.

The Right Honourable Malcolm Rifkind, Q.C., M.P., will visit Dunedin, carry out discussions with New Zealand Cabinet Ministers and will address The New Zealand/British Trade Council.
