Notice Declaring Wild Oat (Avena strigosa) a Class B Noxious Plant (No. 4926: Ag. 12/10/18/6).

Pursuant to section 19 of the Noxious Plants Act 1978, the Noxious Plants Council hereby declares wild oat (Avena strigosa) to be a Class B noxious plant in that part of New Zealand lying within the boundaries of Wairarapa South/Carterton, Masterton, Featherston, Eketahuna and Pahiatua District Noxious Plants Authorities.

This notice shall come into effect on the day after its date of notification in the Gazette.

Notice of Approval of Bylaw Amendment
- Philip Tosswill Edmond Woolaston, Minister of Conservation, pursuant to sections 8A and 165 of the Harbours Act 1950, hereby give approval to the Lakes District Waterways Authority Control Bylaws 1989 adopted on 9 May 1989 and confirmed by each member of the Authority signing the bylaws and approved by the Minister of Transport on 7 June 1989.

Hospital Schools Boards of Trustees Amendment Notice 1989
Pursuant to section 6 (1) (b) and (2) (b) and Section 11 (10) of the School Trustee Act 1989, the Minister of Education gives the following notice:
Notice
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Hospital Schools Boards of Trustees Amendment Notice 1989.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

The Hospital Schools Boards of Trustees Notice 1989 is hereby amended by adding to the schedule of schools the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Education Unit, Rotorua.

The Hospital Schools Boards of Trustees Notice 1989 is hereby further amended by adding the following clause:
'9 Notwithstanding anything in clauses 3, 7 and 8 of this notice, in the case of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Education Unit, Rotorua, the following paragraphs shall apply:
(a) The terms of office of elected appointed and ex-officio members of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Education Unit Board of Trustees shall commence on 23 September 1989 and shall cease on that day in May 1992 preceding the day on which the newly appointed board holds its annual meeting as required by the School Trustees Act 1989.
(b) The first election of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Education Unit Board of Trustees staff representative shall be held on 14 September 1989.
(c) The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Education Unit Board of Trustees shall hold its first meeting on 27 September 1989.'

Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967
Declaration of Infected Area Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967
Pursuant to regulation 4 of the Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967, I, Timothy Robin Cutler, Secretary of Forestry, Wellington, with approval of the Ministry of Forestry, hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be an infected area in respect of the insect called the eucalyptus leaf mining sawfly (Phylacteophaga froggatti). The declaration of infected areas published in the New Zealand Gazette, 28 April 1988, No. 71 at page 1663, in respect of an Australian leaf mining sawfly is hereby revoked.
Schedule
All that area contained in and described as the North Island of New Zealand.

This declaration shall come into effect upon first publication in a newspaper circulated in the infected area.

It is an offence to remove any live plant material (including nursery tree stocks, leaf material, branches, logs or firewood) from the infected area, if such are of any eucalyptus or oak species, until further notice. Nurseries may be permitted to move tree stocks, and sawmillers permitted to move logs from the infected area on application to the Regional Manager, Ministry of Forestry and subsequent to treatment.
