ROUND 75: CALL FOR TENDERS WHICH CLOSED ON 6 JUNE 1989

APPAREL TENDER ALLOCATIONS: 1989/90

Points to Note:

Licence Validity

(1) Tender licences for apparel will be valid from 1 September 1989.

Increased Access Levels

(2) Please note that there have been some changes in the access levels for apparel. As a result of the decisions of the Apparel Tariff and Access Review the tender level for 1989/90 has been increased by 3 percent rather than the 2 percent which had previously been applied to apparel.

(3) In addition the tender level for handkerchiefs has been increased by 5 percent in the 1989/90 round. From 1 July 1990 import licensing on handkerchiefs will be removed and tariff rates will be reduced to zero.

Men’s and Boys’ Jackets

(4) Please also note that the amounts tendered in this round for men’s and boys’ jackets (G.906 and G.907) represent only 50 percent of the total tender allocation for 1989/90. The balance, less continuity, will be tendered in August 1989.

CER Apparel

(5) As from 1 July 1989 all import licence restrictions and tariffs on imports into New Zealand of Australian apparel will be removed.
