Law Practitioners Act 1982

Order for Striking Off Practitioners Name

In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1982:

Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, notice is hereby given that on the 31st day of May 1988, the New Zealand Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:

  1. That the name of the Practitioner Warren Geoffrey Broughton be struck off the roll of barristers and solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand.

  2. That the practitioner pay to the Southland District Law Society the sum of $14,539.42 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the enquiry by its District Council.

  3. That the practitioner pay to the New Zealand Law Society the sum of $43,375.05 in respect of the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by this tribunal.

  4. That the publication of the name of any witness or client or any material which might lead to the identification of any witness or client in this matter be prohibited and that such prohibition extends to and includes the relationship of the Practitioner to a particular client named in the order.

In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1982:

Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, notice is hereby given that on the 20th day of February 1989, the New Zealand Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:

  1. That the name of the Practitioner Barry Morton Scott be struck off the roll of barristers and solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand.

  2. That the practitioner pay to the New Zealand Law Society the sum of $1,014.80 in respect of the costs and expenses of and incidental to the enquiry by this Tribunal.

  3. That the practitioner pay to the Auckland District Law Society the sum of $4,469.13 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the enquiry by its council.

  4. That pending the determination or discontinuance of the criminal charges against him, there be no publication of the practitioner’s name other than the communication by the Auckland District Law Society to its members of the fact of striking off and required publication in the Gazette.

Licensing Trusts Act 1949

Notice of Resolution to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Oamaru Licensing Trust

Pursuant to section 34B (10) of the Licensing Trusts Act 1949, I, David Oughton, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Oamaru Licensing Trust on 31 May 1989 passed a resolution varying the usual hours of trading for the Licensed Premises known as the Maheno Tavern.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On Monday to Thursday. Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On Friday and Saturday. Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

Pursuant to section 221A (14) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (1) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, David Oughton, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Auckland Licensing Committee on 28 June 1989 made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the Licensed Premises known as the Clevedon Hotel, Kawakawa Bay Road, Clevedon.
