Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities Act 1968

Whereas the Government of New Zealand and representatives of the Governments of other States;
And whereas it appears that doubts may arise as to the privileges and immunities which may be enjoyed by representatives and members of their official staffs attending the said session;
Now therefore pursuant to section 11 of the Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities Act 1968, the Minister of Foreign Affairs hereby directs that every representative of the said Governments (other than the Government of New Zealand) and the members of their official staffs attending the said session shall be accorded the following privileges and immunities:

(a) Every representative of the said Governments (other than the Government of New Zealand) shall be accorded the privileges and immunities conferred by or by virtue of Part I of the Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities Act 1968 on a diplomatic agent; and

(b) All the members of the official staff of any such representative shall be accorded the privileges and immunities conferred by or by virtue of Part I of the Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities Act 1968 on members of the diplomatic staff of a diplomatic mission.

Further Extending the Time Within Which Committee of Inquiry into Procedures Used in Certain Psychiatric Hospitals in Relation to Admission, Discharge, or Release on Leave of Certain Classes of Patients May Report

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to:

KENNETH HECTOR MASON, of Auckland, District Court Judge; and
ALLISON BERNICE RYAN, of Wellington, Medical Practitioner; and
HENRY RONGOMAU BENNETT, C.B.E., Q.S.O., of Rotorua, Medical Practitioner:

Whereas, by Warrant dated the 2nd day of July 1987*, you were appointed to be a Committee of Inquiry to inquire into the matters set out in that Warrant, being matters concerning the procedures used in certain psychiatric hospitals in relation to the admission, discharge, or release on leave of certain classes of patients:

And whereas the terms of reference set out in the said Warrant were amended by Warrant dated the 9th day of November 1987†, so that inquiry could be made into the use of those procedures at the psychiatric hospitals administered by the West Coast Hospital Board:

And whereas, by the said Warrant dated the 2nd day of July 1987, you were required to submit your report not later than the 31st day of December 1987:

And whereas by a further Warrant dated the 14th day of December 1987‡ the time for reporting was extended until the 30th day of April 1988:

And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be further extended as hereinafter provided:

Now therefore, pursuant to section 13 (3) of the Hospitals Act 1957, I, DAVID FRANCIS CAYGILL, Minister of Health, hereby extend until the 31st day of May 1988 the time within which you are so required to report, without prejudice to the liberty conferred on you by the said Warrant dated the 2nd day of July 1987 to report your proceedings from time to time if you should judge it expedient to do so.

And I hereby confirm the said Warrant dated the 2nd day of July 1987, save as amended by the said Warrant dated the 9th day of November 1987 and by the said Warrant dated the 14th day of December 1987 and by this Warrant.
