TARIFF INDUSTRY ASSISTANCE (DECISION) NOTICE NO. 1988/14

Decisions of the Minister of Customs in respect of Part I and Part II of the Customs Tariff

1 Notice is hereby given that the following decisions have been made in respect of the goods published in the Schedules to this notice.

2 SCHEDULE 2 – Decisions cancelled. The cancellations listed in this schedule take effect seven days from Gazette date unless otherwise specified, eg, WEF (date):—

3 SCHEDULE 3 – Limited Decisions

(a) Approvals given under Schedule 3 are restricted to the applicant for whom the approval was originally given and are not available for general use.
This Notice only serves to inform the importing/manufacturing community of the approvals existence.
(b) Schedule 3 and 4 will not be published in the Consolidated List of Decisions.
4 It should be noted that any concession or determination can be subject to amendment or cancellation by notification in the Gazette.
5 Where the month of the start date and end date is shown the day of the start date is the first day of that month and the day of the end date is the last day of that month – eg, 3/88 to 3/89 is 1/3/88 to 30/9/89.

An engine for which the original engine manufacturer obtains a certificate certifying it as complying with a national Standard Specification, internationally acceptable, and attaining its maximum continuous shaft kilowatt rating under either DIN6270 (rating A) or BS 649; 1958 or SAE J1349, at an engine speed not exceeding 2000 rpm.

An engine for which the original engine manufacturer obtains a certificate certifying it as complying with a national Standard Specification, internationally acceptable and attaining its maximum continuous shaft kilowatt rating at an engine speed exceeding 2000 rpm under DIN 6270 (rating A) or BS 649; 1958 or SAE J1349, provided that the maximum continuous shaft kilowatt rating is greater than 149 shaft kilowatts (200 shaft horsepower).
