Wellington Hospital Board Notice

Public Works Act 1981 and Hospitals Act 1957

Notice of Intention to Take Land

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1981, the Hospitals Act 1957 and their respective amendments:

Notice is hereby given that the Wellington Hospital Board proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a hospital, namely to remove an earthquake risk, to provide carparking and to allow for the widening of Regina Terrace that will improve access to the “Cornwall Block”, the mortuary, and other clinical facilities, and for the purpose of that public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.

The Wellington Hospital Board consider it reasonably necessary to take the said land because:

  1. The improvements on the said land are a seismic risk and in the event of an earthquake it is likely access up Regina Terrace to the clinical services block and mortuary will be blocked.

  2. Carparking at the hospital is inadequate.

  3. To allow for the widening of Regina Terrace that will improve access to the “Cornwall Block”, the mortuary and other clinical facilities.

All persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any objections to the taking of the said land, not being objections to the amount or payment of compensation, set forth such objection in writing and send the same within 20 days of the first publication of this notice to the Registrar, Planning Tribunal, Tribunals Division, Justice Department, Private Bag, Postal Centre, Wellington; and notice is hereby further given that if any objection is made as aforesaid a public hearing of that objection will be held unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of that hearing.

Schedule
