Representative of the Employees of the Taranaki Harbours Board Appointed to Appeal Board

Pursuant to section 45 (2) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

John Wilson Dickinson

to be a member of the Appeal Board set up in connection with an appeal by Captain R. J. Barnes against the appointment of Captain B. J. Perkins to the position of Tugmaster of the Taranaki Harbours Board and also the Dismissal of Captain Barnes from the employ of the Taranaki Harbours Board.

Appointment of Supervising Officers

I, Bernard Antony Martin, Controller of Maritime Policy, pursuant to section 7 of the Harbours Act 1950, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby appoint:

Peter Minshall Kershaw as a supervising officer for the Ministry of Transport, Northern Region;

Gerald Curtis Wright as a supervising officer for the Ministry of Transport, Northern Region;

Ian Gordon Burnett Lovie as a supervising officer for the Ministry of Transport, Napier District of the Central Region;

Alan Buchanan Shearer as a supervising officer for the Ministry of Transport, New Plymouth District of the Central Region;

Ross Maxwell Williams as a supervising officer for the Ministry of Transport, Nelson District of the Central Region;

Ian Keith Harwood as a supervising officer for the Ministry of Transport, Southern Region; and

Francis Dominic Ryan as a supervising officer, for the purposes of the Harbours Act 1950 and the Water Recreation Regulations 1979.

Transport Licensing Sitting

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962 as amended by the Transport Amendment Act No. 2 1983, the No. 6 Transport District Licensing Authority (W. O'Brien), gives notice of the receipt of the following applications and will hold a public sitting to receive evidence or representations, whether submitted in writing or presented in person for or against the granting of them in the No. 2 Court Room, 10 Market Place, Wanganui commencing Wednesday, 6 April 1988 at 11 a.m.

Applicants must be present or represented. All documents for alteration must be handed in at the sitting.

To: Student Siahlmann (referred to below as “the licensee”).

And To: The Secretary for Transport. Wellington.

Take notice that pursuant to section 140 of the Transport Act 1962, the Licensing Authority for Wellington Transport District will hold a public inquiry into the operation of Taxi Service Licence No. 13198.

The reason why the inquiry is to be conducted is that the Licensing Authority wishes to determine:

(a) Whether or not the licensee meets the criteria set out in section 124 of the Transport Act 1962 and—

(b) Whether or not the licensee has failed to comply with any term or condition of the licence.

The public inquiry will be held on Wednesday, 20 April 1988 at 2 p.m. in the Ministry of Transport Office, Pearse House, corner Willis and Ghuznee Streets, Wellington.

The licensee and the Secretary for Transport are entitled to appear and to be heard at the public inquiry and may be represented by counsel. If, however you fail to appear, the public inquiry may proceed in your absence. Any further information regarding the inquiry may be obtained from the undersigned.
