Application to the Indecent Publications Tribunal

Pursuant to the Customs Act 1966, I, Murdoch Walter Taylor, Comptroller of Customs, give notice that I have applied to the Indecent Publications Tribunal for a decision as to whether the books described below are indecent or not or for a decision as to their classification.

Provisional Dumping Determination

Pursuant to the provisions contained in section 16(5) of the Customs Act 1966, notice is hereby given by the Minister of Customs of a preliminary determination of dumping being found in relation to hog bristle paint brushes, the origin of the People’s Republic of China.

Pursuant to the provisions contained in section 18(2)N of the Customs Act 1966, the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice of a provisional direction that payment of duty in respect of those goods described above shall be secured in accordance with Part IX of this Act. The rate or amount of such duty to be secured shall equal the differences between the export price determined by the Minister, pursuant to section 18(6) of the Customs Act 1966.

Customs Act 1966

Customs Act 1966 any amount which is required to be taken into account for the purpose of assessing duty or any other purpose is not an amount in New Zealand currency, the amount to be so taken into account shall be the equivalent in New Zealand currency of that amount ascertained in accordance with the rate of exchange set out in the Schedule to this notice.

3. Revocation

The Customs Exchange Rates Notice (No. 6) 1988, published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 38, dated the 4th day of March 1988, on page 802 is hereby revoked.

Customs Exchange Rates Notice (No. 7) 1988

Pursuant to section 143 of the Customs Act 1966, the Comptroller of Customs, in accordance with the power delegated to him by the Minister of Customs under section 9 of that Act, hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Short title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Customs Exchange Rates Notice (No. 7) 1988.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 28th day of March 1988.

  1. Exchange rates—Where under any provisions of the Customs Act 1966 any amount in foreign currency is to be converted into New Zealand currency, the rate of exchange to be used shall be the rate of exchange set out in the Schedule to this notice.
