Notice of Intention to Hold an Inquiry into the Operation of a Continuous Taxicab Service Licence
To: Warwick John Hogg (referred to below as “the licensee”)
and to: The Secretary for Transport.
Take notice that, pursuant to section 140 of the Transport Act 1962, the Licensing Authority for the Dunedin Transport District will hold a public inquiry into the manner of operation of service conducted under continuous taxicab service licence No. 5794, to determine whether it is in the public interest that the said licence, held by “the licensee” should be revoked, suspended or varied.
The inquiry is being conducted pursuant to section 140 of the Transport Act 1962, on the grounds that, on information supplied to the Authority by officers of the Secretary for Transport:
(i) a prima facie suspicion exists that the licensee no longer meets the criteria set out in section 124 of the Transport Act 1962; and
(ii) it is suspected, the licensee has failed to comply with the requirements of section 132 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, being a condition of continuous taxicab service licence No. 5794.\n
The public inquiry will be held at Dunedin on the 27th day of April at the Conference Room, Ministry of Transport, Dunedin, at 9.30 a.m.
