I, William Ernest Bernie Tucker, Deputy Chairman of the Commerce Commission, hereby make the following public disclosure as required by section 14 (3) of the Commerce Act 1986 (the Act):

Pursuant to section 14 (2) of the Act Colleen Elizabeth Dewe, Member of the Commerce Commission has disclosed the following pecuniary interest in a business or body corporate carrying on business in New Zealand:

2673 ordinary and 100 cumulative preference shares in L. D. Nathan & Company Ltd.

And that business or body corporate is concerned in matters before the Commerce Commission, being matters in the determination of which the member who has the above interest is or will be participating, namely:

  1. Lion Corporation Ltd. and/or any interconnected body corporate thereof acquire up to 100 percent of all the issued capital of L. D. Nathan & Company Ltd. [AUT/MT-L2/28]
  2. Lion Corporation Ltd. and/or any interconnected body corporate thereof acquire up to 100 percent of all the issued capital of Wiltshire Investments (1986) Ltd. [AUT/MT-L2/27].
  3. Wiltshire Investments (1986) Ltd. and/or any interconnected body corporate thereof acquire up to 40 percent of the issued share capital of L. D. Nathan & Company Ltd. [AUT/MT-W24/1]

Puritan Fashions (1985) Ltd.

The well known and highly successful company known as Puritan Fashions (1985) Ltd. has no connection with the company known as Puritan Fashions Ltd. in respect of which notice of advertisement of the presentation of a winding up petition to the High Court at Auckland appeared in the Commercial Edition of the New Zealand Gazette on 2 March 1988. This notice is for the benefit of all readers who may have misconceived the position in relation to the solvency or otherwise of Puritan Fashions (1985) Ltd. in view of the similarity of names of the two companies.
