Tariff Industry Assistance (Advertisement) Notice No. 1988/45—continued

Designed for mounting on tractors or other vehicles EXCLUDING:

(a) Bulldozer blades, buckets that have a S.A.E. rated capacity below 1.53m3 and the like and their activating equipment, eg., hydraulic rams, trunnions, cylinder bracket assemblies and push arms

(b) Wheeled front end loaders, (excluding track types) whether or not assembled, as defined by SAE Standard SAE J1057 (published in the Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc Handbook) which cannot rotate through the horizontal plane without movement of the wheels with a static tipping load in full turn capacity up to and including 12,000 kg as measured to SAE Standard J732c. This measurement shall be applied to these loaders equipped to the manufacturers’ worldwide official specifications excluding tyre ballast and optional counterweights

(c) Backhoe loaders, whether or not assembled, consisting of a tractor base or wheel loader base, two wheel drive, four wheel drive or crawler type, front or rear wheel steer, pivot steer or skid steer complete with backhoe (digger) mounted in any position whether capable of side shift or not, with king post, swing mechanism, with or without bucket, boom arm assembly (boom linkage) and hydraulic cylinders having a boom swing travel of less than 360 degrees (commonly referred to as a TLB Tractor Loader Backhoe or Backhoe Loader)

(d) Tractor mounted backhoes (diggers) and skid steer base mounted backhoes whether or not assembled, two or four wheel drive, front or rear steer, pivot steer or skid steer complete with backhoe (digger) mounted in any position whether capable of side shift or not, with king post, swing mechanism having a boom swing travel of less than 360 degrees

(e) Four wheel drive, skid steer front end loaders (commonly known as Bobcat Loaders)

(f) Rubber tracked loader with a lifting capacity up to 1000 kg

Machine-tools for working wood, cork, bone, ebonite (vulcanite), hard artificial plastic materials or other hard carving materials, other than machines falling within heading No. 84.67:
EXCLUDING:

Edgebanding machines which perform the following functions only viz: the application of preglued edging tape coils of PVC, melamine or wood veneer to hand fed panels by means of glue reactivation, with or without a tape front and/or end cut off function

(Edgebanding machines which have additional functions to those specified above will qualify for this concession provided the additional functions are relevant to edgebanding machines and are catalogued as being for the edgebanders concerned)

Drill presses, bench or floor mounting column type, not exceeding capacities in mild steel up to and including 42mm. (Multi-purpose or composite machines incorporating this function fall within this exclusion)

Samco model LP15 vertical and bobbin sander

Surface planers, buzzers or jointers with blade not exceeding 310mm

Thicknessers, with a capacity up to and including 330mm. (Multi-purpose or composite machines incorporating this function fall within this exclusion)

Moulding lathes. For operation with tools held by the hand or semi-automatic (but not including fully automatic)

End-matching machines

Woodworking machinery; viz:

Automatic firewood saws

Bandsaws with throat capacity not exceeding 535mm (21in.)

Box nailing machines

Brest benches

Circular breakdown saws

Circular saw benches, hand-feed, including builders’ treadle saw benches, with blade diameter not exceeding 360mm

Cut-off saws, pendulum type with motor not exceeding 3.75 kW (5 h.p.) and with blade diameter not exceeding 500mm (20in.)

Docking saws

Dowelling machines with single spindle and manual feed

Drill presses, wall mounting, radial type not exceeding 22.2mm capacity in mild steel

Horizontal dowel boring machines, not exceeding 25mm capacity in mild steel

Log cut-off swing saws
