Note: Tenderers should note that bovine leather, EVA sheet soling and rubber sheet soling for use in the manufacture of footwear moved to Global Licence on Demand and exempt licence from Australia on 2 November 1988.

15 PERCENT OF BASICS TENDER SCHEME

These goods are a continuation of the 15% of basics tendering provision and represent the only remaining goods in this scheme with the exemption of two ceramic Item Codes. As these two Item Codes are also being tendered under the Ceramic Industry Development Plan below the amounts due for tender under this scheme have been added to the amounts being tendered under the Industry Plan. The Item Codes and amounts are 69.030, 49 units; 69.038, 224 units. This has not been done in the case of carpet and cigars as the products do not align exactly.

Import licences won in this tender round are not themselves basic licences and will carry no right of automatic reuse under the provisions for basic licence. The provision for tender continuity licences (50% of the licence value after 12 months, once only) will apply in the normal manner.

TOBACCO INDUSTRY STUDY PLAN

This is the third and final allocation under the Tobacco Industry Study Plan. These goods will be removed from import licence control from 1 October 1989. Licences won will be issued for the period to 30 September 1989 and no refund of premium will be made for any unused balances remaining on licences as at that date.
