Hawke’s Bay County Boundary Definition Notice 1988

Pursuant to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government gives the following notice:

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Hawke’s Bay County Boundary Definition Notice 1988.

2. The boundary of Hawke’s Bay County is hereby defined as set out in the Schedule hereto, that boundary having been established by the Hawke’s Bay County Napier City Boundary Alteration Order 1988, and the Hawke’s Bay County - Hasting’s City Boundary Alteration Order 1988, which were published in the New Zealand Gazette, 4 May 1988, No. 38, page 820, and which came into force on 1 April 1988.

Boundaries of Hawke’s Bay County

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ngaruroro River in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, S.O. 9559 and Block IV, Kaweka Survey District and proceeding north-easterly to and along that boundary and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Omaru Stream and down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Tapapa No. 3 Block, Block I, Kaweka Survey District; thence to and along the south-western and southern boundaries of Tapapa No. 3 Block and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mohaka River; thence northerly up the middle of the Mohaka River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 1, Te Matai Block; thence easterly to and along that boundary and easterly and northerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Lot 2, Te Matai Block and the production of that boundary to the northern side of the Ripia River to a point in line with the western boundary of Tarewera C9 Block; thence northerly along that boundary and the intersection of that boundary with the southern boundary of Block IX, Tarewera Survey District, along that boundary and approximately 200 metres along the southern boundary of Block X, Tarewera Survey District, to its intersection with the middle of a tributary of the Toropapa Stream, as shown on M.L. 1404; thence on a right line to that corner and north-easterly generally along the eastern side of Kowaro Roadway and the western side of Turangakumu Road to a point in line with the southern side of Taraakina Roadway in Block XI, Tarewera Survey District; thence easterly generally to and along the side of that roadway and the production of that side to and down the middle of the Waipunga River to the middle of the Mohaka River; thence north-easterly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 2, Block X, Waitara Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Section 2, Block XII, Waitara Survey District, to the middle of the Waikari River and down the middle of that river to the sea coast; thence southerly generally along the sea coast to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 3216, in Block III, Waimarama Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary and the production of that boundary to the western side of Te Apiti Road; thence westerly again along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 3215; thence southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 3215 to the western boundary of that Lot 1; thence northerly along the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3215 and the production of that boundary to the northern side of Waipoapoa Road; thence northerly again along that boundary and the eastern boundaries of Sections 6 and 16 and part Section 4, Block III, Oero Survey District to the northern boundary of the last-mentioned part Section 4; thence north-westerly to and along the south-western boundaries of the last-mentioned Patangata 2E1 Block and the production of that boundary to the middle of Te Aute Trust Road; thence north-westerly generally along the middle of that road and Boundary Road to the middle of No. 2 State Highway; thence south-westerly along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 5103; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary, the north-eastern boundary of Part Lot 29, D.P. 4416, Section 1, Block XV, Maraekakaho Survey District to Te Onepu Road and along a right line to the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence north-westerly along that boundary to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned Section 1 along a right line to a point in the middle of the Mangaonuku Stream in line with the north-western boundary of Section 7, Block X, Maraekakaho Survey District, then up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the original northern boundary of Block 3, Gwavas Crown Grant District, in Block IV, Waikare Survey District; thence easterly along that boundary to Kereru Road, along a right line to and again along that said northern boundary and south-westerly and southerly along the north-western boundaries of the said Block 3 and the north-eastern and western boundaries of Blocks 1, 5 and again Block 1, all of Gwavas Crown Grant District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangamaire Stream; thence north-westerly up the middle of that stream to the northernmost point of Lot 1, D.P. 16107; thence westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Makaroro River and the Makaroro Stream in Block IX, Wakara Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line between the aforesaid confluence and Trig. Station 30 Aorangi in Block XI, Pukeokahu Survey District, Wellingtons Land District, to its intersection with the western boundary of Block I, Waikare Survey District; thence northerly generally along that boundary and the western boundary of Block XVIII,
