14. Local Authorities Petroleum Tax—For the purposes of Part XI of the Local Government Act 1974, the district council shall be the successor of the former authorities.

15. Town and Country Planning—(1) Pursuant to section 63 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977, the district council shall not be required forthwith to prepare a new district scheme for the new district.

(2) The district planning schemes and scheme statements and codes of ordinances in force in the respective districts of the former authorities shall be deemed to be the district planning scheme, scheme statement and code of ordinances of the new district and they shall remain in force in the respective parts of the new district until a new district scheme is prepared for the new district under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977.

16. Vesting of Property—All property, real and personal, vested in the corporations of the former authorities shall, subject to all existing encumbrances, be vested in the corporation of the district council.

17. Title to Property—Any reference (express or implied) to:

(a) "The Taupo Borough Council"; or

(b) "The Mayor, councillors and citizens of the Borough of Taupo"; or

(c) "The Taupo County Council"; or

(d) "The Chairman, councillors and inhabitants of the County of Taupo"; or

(e) "The Taupo County Commissioner"

in any instrument or other document whatsoever, or in any entry or record made on any document whatever, or in any entry or record made in any register in relation to any instrument or other document whatsoever shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be read as a reference to the Taupo District Council.

18. Creditors—Subject to section 37F of the Local Government Act 1974, the rights or interests of creditors of the former authorities shall not be affected.

19. Civil Defence—The operative joint local civil defence plan for the former authorities shall continue in force in the new district until a new plan is approved for the new district under Part II of the Civil Defence Act 1983.

First Schedule

Pouakani Ward

All that area in the South Auckland Land District; Taupo District, containing 1075 square kilometres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waikato River at its confluence with the middle of the Waipa River in Block XVI, Wharepuha Survey District; thence generally south-easterly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the production of the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 43655; thence south-westerly to and along that north-western boundary to the south-western corner of the said Lot 1; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Lot 2, L.T. S. 14862 to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, L.T. Taupo Ward

All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Taupo District, containing 520 square kilometres more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Te Hukui South Block, situated in Block VI, Taupo Survey District and proceeding easterly along the northern boundary of Pokuru North Block to the north-western corner of Tahorakuri Y Block; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Tahorakuri Y Block to the northern boundary of part Tahorakuri S84 (Roadway), 20.12 metres on a bearing of 12° 10' from the north-western corner of Tahorakuri A1 Section 25; thence easterly along the northern boundary of part Tahorakuri S84 to a point in line with the production to the eastern boundary of Tahorakuri A1 Section 4; thence southerly, to and along that boundary to the
