Section 139 (1)

Direction of the Registrar

Under the provisions of section 139 (1) of the Friendly Society and Credit Unions Act 1982, I hereby direct that the Wattie Employees (Gisborne) Credit Union be prohibited from all the following activities until this direction is withdrawn:

(a) Borrowing money;

(b) Accepting a payment representing the whole or any part of an amount due by way of subscription for a share in the credit union other than a payment which fell due before the making of the order;

(c) Lending money;

(d) Repaying share capital or offsetting an indebtedness of a member against share capital;

(e) Accepting new members.

Incorporated Society Act Notices

In the matter of the Incorporated Societies Act 1908, and in the matter of The Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce (Incorporated):

Notice is hereby given that a general meeting of the members of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce was held at Palmerston North at 6 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 23rd day of August 1988. At that meeting the following resolution was passed:

"That the following resolutions passed at the annual general meeting of the society at 12 o’clock noon on Thursday, the 21st day of July 1988 be and are hereby confirmed:

1. That the society be wound up voluntarily pursuant to section 24 of the Incorporated Societies Act 1908, and that Kenneth Ian MacKrell of Palmerston North, chartered accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the society.

2. That following the winding up of the society the net assets of the society be distributed specie to the Manawatu Commerce Centre (Inc).

3. That the society’s accounts for the year ending 31 August 1987 and the period ending 31st March 1988 submitted at this meeting be adopted and accepted."
