Environmental Impact Report Notified
Maui Stage II Development
The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment has received an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the Maui Stage II Development proposal for audit and investigation. The EIR was prepared by Shell BP and Todd Oil Services Ltd., on behalf of Maui Development Ltd., in accordance with the Government’s Environmental Protection and Enhancement Procedures.
The Commissioner’s audit and investigation will have regard to the Environment Act 1986. Upon completion it will be referred to the Minister of Energy as well as being presented to the House of Representatives.
You are invited to make written submissions to the Commissioner on the EIR and environmental implications of the proposal. Submissions should be addressed to:
The Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, P.O. Box 10-241, Wellington.
Submissions should reach the Commissioner’s office before 5 p.m. on Friday, 5 August 1988. It is requested that these be made in dark legible script, single sided on A4 sized paper. Opportunity will also be given in the Taranaki region for hearing oral submissions and public concerns. Dates and venue will be announced in due course.
The Commissioner’s audit will be completed in September 1988.
Copies of the EIR may be purchased at a cost of $60 (GST inclusive) from:

Pursuant to section 24 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

Title and commencement—This order may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (Auckland Regional Planning Scheme: Section 1) Order 1988.

Section 1 of the Auckland Regional Planning Scheme approved—Section 1 of the Auckland Regional Planning Scheme as prepared in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1977 by the Auckland Regional Authority, and held in the office of the Secretary for the Environment in Wellington under reference No. TP150/2/0/1, is hereby approved.

Commencement of Section 1 of the Auckland Regional Planning Scheme—Section 1 of the Auckland Regional Planning Scheme as approved by clause 2 of this order shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1988.
