The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 3103 Specification for sands for mortars and plasters. $5.00 (incl. GST)

This draft revises NZS 3103:1976. Specified are the essential requirements for naturally occurring, manufactured, and blended sands, other than lightweight sands, suitable for use in mortars and plasters to meet normal structural and durability requirements.

The revision format is more consistent with that of NZS 3121:1986, the specification for water and aggregate for concrete. It still contains cleanness requirements, freedom from deleterious materials and physical characteristics, including proof of classification as Type A or Type B.
