NOTICE is hereby given that the Commerce Commission has given clearance to the following merger and takeover proposals in terms of Section 66 (3) (a) of the Commerce Act 1986.

Proposal

Clifton Properties Ltd. may acquire the property at 850 Victoria Street, Hamilton from ICI NZ Superfunds Securities Ltd.

Farmrite Industries Ltd. may acquire the agricultural machinery business of Bisleys Industries Ltd.

Dominion Breweries Ltd. may acquire the lease, chattels and stock-in-trade of the Te Awamutu Hotel from Linrob Holdings Ltd.

A new holding company, Ceramco Corporation Ltd., may acquire 100 percent of the shareholding of Ceramco Ltd. and Bendon Industries Ltd.

Welgas Holdings Ltd. may acquire up to 100 percent of the issued share capital in Auckland Gas Company Ltd.

Broadbank Corporation Ltd. and/or a subsidiary of Broadbank Corporation Ltd. may acquire all the share capital of National Australia Ltd.

Welding Industries of Australasia Ltd. may acquire all the shares in Weldwell (NZ) Ltd.

Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Soc. Ltd. may purchase the commercial office development known as Parkside at 80 Greys Avenue, Auckland from Chase Group Ltd.

Unity Development (Wellington) Ltd. may acquire the property of the New Zealand Racing Conference known as Conference Chambers

Broadbank Corporation Ltd. and/or a subsidiary of Broadbank Corporation Ltd. may acquire all the share capital of National Australia Finance Ltd.

Broadbank Corporation Ltd. and/or a subsidiary of Broadbank Corporation Ltd. may acquire all the assets of First Governors’ Corporation Ltd. and its subsidiaries.

Fenestella Holdings Ltd. may acquire up to 100 percent of the issued capital in Carborundum Abrasives Ltd.

Community Newspapers Ltd. may acquire up to 40 percent of the share capital of Couriers NZ Ltd.

Growthlink Holdings Ltd. may acquire up to 100 percent of the issued voting share capital of Metropolitan Life Assurance Company of NZ Ltd.

Fletcher Merchants Ltd. may acquire the commercial property on the corner of Blenheim Road and Mandeville Street, Christchurch from ICI NZ Superfunds Securities Ltd.

Dominion Breweries Ltd. may acquire the furniture, plant, chattels and stock-in-trade of the DB Esplanade Hotel, Devonport

Dominion Breweries Ltd. may acquire the chattels and stock-in-trade of the Masonic Hotel, Dannevirke
