The Traffic (Auckland Harbour Bridge) Notice No. 1, 1987
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister
of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport,
I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following
notice:
NOTICE
THIS notice may be cited as the Traffic (Auckland Harbour Bridge)
Notice No. 1, 1987.
The Traffic (Auckland Harbour Bridge) Notice No. 1, 1984, signed
the 8th day of October 1984*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the
Transport Act 1962 is revoked.

Notice of Marine Mammal Permit Application (Notice No. 4018;
Ag. 9/6/16/1)
PURSUANT to section 5 (5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act
1978, notice is hereby given that B. Flintoff has applied to export
bone carvings from New Zealand to Canada. Further details of the
proposal may be obtained from the Director, Fisheries Management
Division, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Private Bag,
Wellington.
Any person or organisation wishing to make representations
relating to this application must forward their representation in
writing to reach me within 28 days of publication of this notice.

Customs Exchange Rates Notice (No. 8) 1987
PURSUANT to section 143 of the Customs Act 1966, the Comptroller
of Customs, in accordance with the power delegated to him by the
Minister of Customs under section 9 of that Act, hereby gives the
following notice.
NOTICE
- Short title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited
as the Customs Exchange Rates Notice (No. 8) 1987.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the 13th day of April
1987.

Exchange rates—Where under any provisions of the Customs
Act 1966 any amount which is required to be taken into account
for the purpose of assessing duty or any other purpose is not an
amount in New Zealand currency, the amount to be so taken into
account shall be the equivalent in New Zealand currency of that
amount ascertained in accordance with the rate of exchange set out
in the Schedule to this notice. -
Revocation—The Customs Exchange Rates Notice (No. 7) 1987,
published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 35, dated 19 March
1987 on page 1252 is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, as amended by the Transport Amendment Act No. 2, 1983, the No. 7 Transport District
Licensing Authority (W. O'Brien), gives notice of the receipt of the
following application and will hold a public sitting to receive evidence or representations, whether submitted in writing or presented
in person for or against the granting of it in the Committee Room,
Second Floor, Ministry of Transport Building, Anglesea Street,
Hamilton, commencing Wednesday, 22 April 1987 at 11 a.m.
Applicants must be present or represented. All documents for alteration must be handed in at the sitting.

DECISION
THESE publications were part of a commercial shipment imported
by airmail through the Port of Auckland in August 1986. The
publications were seized by the Collector of Customs at Auckland
and referred to the Tribunal for classification.
As the tribunal understands the matter, the publishers and
distributors very responsibly imported these publications in this
way in order that they should be referred to the tribunal for
classification.
In his submission on behalf of the Comptroller of Customs, Mr
Eggleton advised the tribunal that, in his opinion, the books were
presented in a serious and respectable fashion and were clearly of
an informative nature and were not designed to exploit prurient
