Explanatory Note:

This exemption notice

(a) withdraws all existing exemptions from import control and creates new exemptions aligned with the Harmonised System tariff;

(b) reinstates existing general exemptions from import control;

(c) exempts further sizes of tyres and tubes;

(d) exempts radios for use in assembly of motor vehicles; and

(e) prime movers for articulated road vehicles;

(f) exempts heavy duty brick flooring pavers;

(g) exempts glass packing containers under 250 ml capacity; and

creates exemptions for Australian goods under the ANZCERTA Agreement for certain pens, various types of iron and steel tubes and pipes; certain special purpose vehicles.
