Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.
REGULAR FORCE
Appointments to Commission
The following are appointed to commissions in the rank of Lieutenant and Quartermaster, with seniority from 11 May 1985, effect from 25 September 1987 and are re-engaged until the date shown:

Colonel Dennis James O’Brien, B.E.(HONS), is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 1 October 1987.

Major (temp. Lieutenant Colonel) Hugh Alastair Weatherhead is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 3 October 1987.
Major D. K. Bowler: the notice published in the Gazette, 9 July 1987, No. 107, page 3170, is cancelled and the following substituted: “Major D. K. Bowler is transferred to the Territorial Force with effect from 29 May 1987”.
