Pursuant to regulation 3 (8) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974 and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice:

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Tauranga County) Notice No. 1, 1987.
2. The Tauranga County Council’s proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule is approved.
3. The Road Classification (Tauranga County) Notice No. 1, 1983, dated the 11th day of April 1983*, issued pursuant to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, which relates to the roads described in the Schedule, is revoked.

Approval of Alternative Type of Seat Belt for Specified Class of Vehicle

Notice

Pursuant to regulation 78A and regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by an instrument of delegation dated the 3rd day of August 1987, two point lap seat belts of an approved type are hereby approved for fitting to sitting positions to the rear of the driver’s seat in vehicles of the classes specified in the Schedule hereto.

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated the 3rd day of August 1987, motorcycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulations.

The roads specified in the Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The Traffic (Kaitaia Borough) Notice No. 1, 1978 dated the 17th day of April 1978* issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 is revoked.
