| 1. (a) The Ohau Channel: |
(b) Every stream or river flowing out of Lake Tarawera or Lake Rotoiti:
Provided nothing in this paragraph shall apply with respect to the Tarawera River below the site of a landmark approximately 2500 metres downstream from its outlet from Lake Tarawera or to the Kaituna River below the site of a landmark at Hinemoa’s steps approximately 1 kilometre downstream from its outlet from Lake Rotoiti where the mouth of the outlet is designated by landmarks:
(c) That part of Lake Tarawera which lies outside a line, the ends of which are shown by landmarks on the shore, and which is 200 metres from and parallel to the shore of Karri Point and Rangiuru Bay:
(d) Every stream, spring, or river flowing into Lake Rotoiti:
(e) All waters contained within the area of a circle having a radius of 300 metres around the centre of the mouth or mouths of every stream, spring, or river flowing into or out of the following lakes:
(i) Lake Rotoiti:
(ii) Lake Okataina:
(iii) Lake Rotomahana:
(iv) Lake Rotokakahi:
(v) Lake Tarawera:
(vi) Lake Okareka:
(f) That portion of Lake Rotomahana lying east of a line between the normal sites of 2 landmarks adjacent to the area known commonly as “the landing”:
(g) The Horomanga River.
(h) The Hopuruahine, Aniwaniwa, and Mokau Rivers and their tributaries, and the waters of Lake Waikaremoana contained within the arc of a circle having a radius of 300 metres around the centre of the mouths of those rivers as indicated by landmarks by those river mouths:
(i) Lakes Kaitawa and Whakamarino (Tuai);
(j) The Ruakituri River and its tributaries from its confluence with the Hangaroa River upstream to the Waikarei Falls;
(k) The Hangaroa River and its tributaries:
(l) The Wharekopae River and its tributaries;
(m) The Opato Stream and its tributaries;
(n) The Waipaoa River and its tributaries upstream from its junction with the Opato Stream;
(o) The Raetihi hydro-electric dam. | Natural fly or artificial fly. Except as provided in the definition of “artificial fly” in clause 2 (2) of this notice, no spinning attachment nor anything made from lead, glass, plastic, or other material to facilitate casting or to increase the sinking of the line shall be added to the cast, line, or fly. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice sets the conditions under which a current licence holder may fish for acclimatised fish in the Rotorua District of the Central North Island Wildlife Conservancy Acclimatisation District.
District Anglers (Ashburton Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987
PURSUANT to section 71 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Ashburton Acclimatisation Society hereby gives the following District Anglers Notice.
NOTICE

Title and commencement—This notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Ashburton Acclimatisation District) Notice 1987, and shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1987.

Interpretation—(1) In this notice—“Foulhook” in relation to acclimatised fish means to take the acclimatised fish with a hook otherwise than through the mouth.
(2) Words and expressions in this notice which are defined in the Fisheries Act 1983 or the Freshwater Fishes Regulations 1983 shall have the meanings so defined.
Particular note should be taken of the following definitions which are substantially extracted from the Act:
“Fishing” means the catching, taking, or harvesting of fish, and includes any other activity which may reasonably be expected to result in the catching, taking, or harvesting of fish; and also includes any operation in support of or in preparation for any activities described in this definition;
“Taking” means fishing; and “to take” has a corresponding meaning.
- Open season—(1) Subject to subclause (2) of this clause and to clause 4 of this notice, there shall be an open season for fishing for acclimatised fish from the 1st day of October in any year to the 30th day of April in the following year (both days inclusive).
(2) There shall be an open season for fishing for acclimatised fish—
(a) The 1st day of May to the 31st day of May in the same year (both days inclusive) in Lake Camp (also known as Howard);
(b) From the first Saturday following Queen’s Birthday weekend to the 31st day of August in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Rakaia, Ashburton, and Rangitata Rivers downstream from the bridge spanning each of those rivers on the main south road;
(c) From the 1st day of May to the 30th day of September in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Rangitata Diversion Race between the point known as the Klondyke Intake and the control structure at the intake pipe of the Highbank power station.
(3) No licence holder shall fish for or take any acclimatised fish except during an open season.
- Closed season—(1) There shall be a closed season for fishing for acclimatised fish—
(a) From the 1st day of March to the 30th day of April in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Rakaia River and its tributaries above Lake Coleridge powerhouse, that point being more particularly shown by white posts on the river banks:
Provided that this paragraph shall not apply to any lakes draining into the Rakaia River above the point specified;
(b) From the 1st day of March to the 30th day of April in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Rangitata River and its tributaries above the point known as Red Rocks Bluff, that point being more particularly shown by white posts on the river banks;
(c) From the 1st day of March to the 30th day of April in the same year (both days inclusive) in the Rangitata River from the west end of the Rangitata Gorge downstream to the confluence with Boundary Creek, both points being more particularly shown by white posts on the river banks;
(d) From the 1st day of October to the Friday preceding the first Saturday in November in the same year (both days inclusive), in any high country lake or tarn or any tributary of any such lake or tarn;
