NOTICE is hereby given that the Commerce Commission has given clearance to the following merger and takeover proposals in terms of section 66 (3) (a) of the Commerce Act 1986.

Proposal
Lion Corporation Ltd. may acquire the chattels and stock-in-trade of the Argyle Hotel, Hunterville from Lindsay and Leonie Lees
General Accident Group of NZ Ltd. may acquire up to 20 percent of the issued share capital of Countrywide Banking Corporation (a company yet to be registered)
Bank of Scotland may acquire up to 40 percent of the issued share capital of Countrywide Banking Corporation (a company yet to be registered)
Richardson Camway Ltd. may acquire up to 100 percent of the issued share capital in Equiticorp Holdings

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 14) 1987
PURSUANT to regulation 17 of the Import Control Regulations 1973*, the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
-
(1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 14) 1987.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the 18th day of September 1987. -
Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

The exemption from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations, in respect of the classes of goods set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, included in the exemption notice shown in the Second Schedule, is hereby withdrawn.
