PURSUANT to the Import Control Regulations 1973 (S.R. 1980/246), I. J. W. H. Clark, Secretary of Trade and Industry, acting under delegated authority call tenders for the goods specified below. Tenders close on the 31st August 1987 at 5 p.m. and must be received by the Registrar of Tenders by then to be valid.

Instructions for tenderers and the general terms and conditions which apply to the submission and acceptance of tenders are set out in the Guide to Global Import Licence Tendering dated November 1986, as amended by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 62, dated 30 April 1987. Bids may be submitted through the departmental bureaufax system. Tenders should be addressed to the Registrar of Tenders, P.O. Box 3146, Wellington, or Bureaufax (04) 734638 or be delivered by hand to the First Floor, of the Bowen State Building, Wellington. Tenders for Round 50 must reach the Registrar no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, 31st August 1987.

APPAREL TENDERING SCHEME

These licences will be valid from 1 December 1987 to 31st August 1988. The shortened licence validity period will allow for the incorporation of men’s and boys’ jacket tendering into the main apparel tender call for 1988–89.

It should be noted that compliance with the Food Regulations is required which does not permit colouring and flavouring of saturated margarine.

MOTOR VEHICLE INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT PLAN
6TH ALLOCATION

  1. The Motor Vehicle Industry Development Plan, announced on 12 December 1984, provides for the tendering of a gradually increasing percentage of the local production of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts and accessories over a period of 4 years.

  2. This is the sixth call for tenders under the Plan.

  3. The call is for tenders for built-up vehicles other than Class 1, and built-up chassis and motor vehicle bodies.

  4. The value being tendered for vehicles having a gross laden weight 3500–10 500 kg; special purpose vehicles; built-up chassis; and motor vehicle bodies is a 6-month allocation. The next call for tenders will be in January 1988.

  5. Licences may be used to import either new or used goods.

  6. Tenderers are advised that built-up vehicles of Item Code Ex 87.020, having a gross laden weight in excess of 10 500 kg and cabs and chassis for vehicles in excess of 10 500 kg became subject to global licence on demand on 1 July 1987.

  7. Passenger motor vehicles of Tariff Item 87.02.039 (Class 1) are to be tendered in a separate round to be called shortly, under amended rules.
