EXPLANATORY NOTE: This exemption notice:

a amends existing exemptions to maintain alignment with the Customs Tariff as amended by the Customs Tariff (Miscellaneous) Amendment Order 1987 and the Customs Tariff (Paper) Amendment Order (No. 2) 1987;

b provides for exemption of certain soldering irons and soldering guns;

c exempts certain lifting and other handling material when imported from Australia under the ANZCERT Agreement, as a consequence of the goods moving to licence on demand;

d clarifies that commercial vehicles, over 10,500 kg are exempt from Australia under the ANZCERT Agreement; and

e withdraws the exemptions (other than under the ANZCERT Agreement) for ceramic lampholders and hand sieves wholly or principally of wire.

Note: Exemptions are amended by withdrawing an existing exemption and creating a new exemption.
