HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Labour made after consultation with the unions, associations, and organisations referred to in section 5 of that Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

1. Title—This order may be cited as the New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), Canterbury Branch Order 1986.

2. Exemption—The New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), Canterbury Branch an organisation approved* under the former name of Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society (Incorporated), Canterbury Branch by the Minister of Labour under section 3 of the Disabled Persons Employment Act 1960, is hereby granted exemption in respect of its sheltered workshop at 150 Ferry Road, Christchurch, from—

(a) All the provisions of every award and agreement that would otherwise apply to persons employed in that workshop; and

(b) The Minimum Wage Act 1945, the Holidays Act 1981, and sections 10 (2) (b) and 15 of the Factories and Commercial Premises Act 1981.

3. Revocation—The New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated) Canterbury Branch Order 1978† is hereby revoked.

District Court Judge Appointed

PURSUANT to section 5 of the District Courts Act 1947, and section 21 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Patrick John Keane, Acting District Court Judge and Taxation Review Authority of Wellington

to be a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the Children and Young Persons Court.
