A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the Representation Commission (Correction of Errors) Order 1987 authorised the Representation Commission to present to me a supplementary report specifying the amendments that need to be made to descriptions of the boundaries of electoral districts set out in the Schedules to the Proclamation published in the Gazette* of the 9th day of April 1987 at pages 1552 to 1616 for the purpose of making those descriptions accord with the determinations of the Representation Commission: And whereas the Representation Commission has this day, in pursuance to the said Order, presented to me a supplementary report specifying the amendments that need to be made to those descriptions for that purpose:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the Representation Commission (Correction of Errors) Order 1987, I, Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as follows:

  1. Title—This proclamation may be cited as the Electoral Districts (Correction of Errors) Proclamation 1987.

  2. Correction of errors—(1) The Proclamation defining the boundaries of the electoral districts, which was made under the Electoral Act 1956 and which was published in the Gazette of the 9th day of April 1987 at pages 1552 to 1616, is hereby amended—

    (a) By omitting from the description in Schedule A of the Albany Electoral District the words “Kawau Island” where they appear on page 1558:

    (b) By adding to the description in Schedule A of the Wellington Central Electoral District, after the words “the point of commencement” where they appear on page 1598, the words “and including Somes and Ward Islands”:

    (c) By omitting from the description in Schedule B of the Northern Maori Electoral District the word “Waikeke” where it appears on page 1611 and the word “Motutapu” where it appears on page 1612:

    (d) By omitting from the description in Schedule B of the Eastern Maori Electoral District the words “Rangitoto Island”, “Motutapu Island”, and “Rakino Island” where they appear on page 1615.

(2) The amendments made by subclause (1) of this clause comprise those specified in the supplementary report presented to me this day by the Representation Commission.
