(d) One member appointed by the Waikato Bay of Plenty Branch of New Zealand Society of Accountants;
(e) One member appointed by the Waikato District Trades Council of the New Zealand Federation of Labour;
(f) One member, who shall be resident in the region serviced by the Institute, appointed by the Combined State Unions;
(g) Two members appointed by the Auckland Provincial Employers Association;
(h) One member appointed by the Council of the University of Waikato;
(i) One member appointed by the Hamilton City Council;
(j) One member who shall be the Principal of the Waikato Technical Institute and who shall be a permanent appointment to the Council;
(k) One member who shall represent the staff of the Waikato Technical Institute and who shall be elected by the permanent and probationary staff employed by the Council and who shall be a staff member employed by the Council;
(l) (i) One member who shall be a student of the Waikato Technical Institute and who shall be appointed by the Waikato Technical Institute Students Association;
(ii) The member appointed pursuant to subparagraph (i) shall hold office for a term of 1 year from the first day of April until the 31st day of March in the subsequent year but if on that date appointment of a successor has not been notified to the Council that member shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment or election is notified;
(m) One member appointed by the Tainui Trust Board after consultation with the Waikato-Maniapoto District Maori Council;
(n) One member who shall be a woman and be resident in the region serviced by the Institute; appointed by the Maori Women's Welfare League (Inc.);
(o) One member appointed by the National Council of Women (Hamilton Branch) after consultation with such Waikato Women's groups as may be determined from time to time by the National Council of Women (Hamilton Branch);
(p) One member appointed by the Hamilton Branch of the New Zealand Nurses Association after consultation with the Cambridge, Matamata, Otorohonga, Taumarunui, Taupo, Te Kuiti, and Tokoroa Branches;
(q) One member appointed by the Waikato Manufacturers Association;
(r) One member appointed by the Waikato Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry and New Zealand Institute of Agricultural Sciences;
(s) Not more than 2 members co-opted by the Council itself, if and when, and for such periods as the Council thinks fit but not exceeding 1 year at any one time.
- The Regional Superintendent of Education, Auckland, or his deputy shall be an associate member of the Waikato Technical Institute Council entitled to be present and heard at any meeting of the Council or of any committee of the Council but he shall not be entitled to vote at any such meeting.
5.(1) Subject to the provisions of this clause and the provisions of clauses (i), (ii), (j) and (s) of this notice, the members of the Waikato Technical Institute Council shall hold office for a term of 3 years, but may from time to time be reappointed or re-elected.
(2) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, or as otherwise provided in this notice, every member shall hold office until the 31st day of July in the third year after the year of his appointment or election, and if on the 31st day of July the appointment or election of his successor has not been notified to the Council, he shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment or election is notified.
(3) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Council or to the Chairman or to the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings of the Council for 3 consecutive months, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment or election of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed or elected, and the member appointed or elected to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
(4) The powers of the Council shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

The Standards Act 1965—Standard Specifications Proposed for Revocation
Notice is hereby given that the under-mentioned New Zealand standard specifications have been recommended for revocation pursuant to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965.
Any person who may be affected by the proposal to revoke these standard specifications, and who wishes to object to their revocation, is invited to submit comments to the Standards Association of New Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington, not later than 15 August 1986.
