✨ Import Licence Tender Results
2032 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 70
PURSUANT to regulation 9A of the Import Control Regulations 1973 (S.R. 1980/246) the Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry, acting under delegated authority hereby presents the results of Round 32 tenders. The Call for Tenders is reproduced for convenient reference.
Residual Licence
At the foot of the results of those tender numbers where all the licence put up for tender was not all taken, the Residual number of units and the price is printed. Applications for any residual licence should be made on the “Request for Residual Licence” forms available from any office of the Department of Trade and Industry (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin) and should be sent to the Registrar of Tenders, P.O. Box 3146, Wellington and the envelope should be marked “Round 32 Residual” on the bottom right hand corner.
Where demand for residual licence exceeds supply the computer is programmed to make a random selection.
Results of residual licence allocation will be made known as soon as possible by letter after the 3-week period for applications to be made following publication of these results.
Payment should not be made until invoices are received. Payment should be made by bank cheque preferably to avoid the 15 working days clearance for other cheques.
Licences still left over after this allocation of residuals will be available on request. Please refer to paragraphs 38 to 44 inclusive in the Guide Notes.
These notes do no apply to residual licence under ANZCERTA tenders which may be obtained on request as of now.

The Motor Vehicle Industry Development Plan, announced on 12 December 1984, provides for the tendering of a gradually increasing percentage of the local production of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts and accessories over a period of 4 years.
-
This is the third call of tenders under the Plan.
-
The call is for tenders for built-up vehicles in six classes; built-up chassis; motor vehicle bodies; and motor vehicle parts and accessories under a number of Item Codes.
-
The value being tendered for prime movers; vehicles up to 3500 kg GVW (gross vehicle weight); vehicles 3500–10 500 kg GVW; vehicles exceeding 10 500 kg GVW; special purpose vehicles; assembled chassis; and motor vehicle bodies is a six monthly allocation. There will be a further call for tenders in July 1986.
-
The value being tendered for omnibuses and motor vehicle parts and accessories is an annual allocation. The next call for tenders will be in January 1987.
SPECIAL ALLOCATION FOR AUSTRALIAN VEHICLES
-
In addition to these allocations, there is a special allocation held exclusively for vehicles up to 3500 kg GVW of Australian origin. (The criteria for “Australian origin” are contained in the Customs Regulations 1968, as amended.) This is a special annual allocation, the value of which will be maintained in real terms over the 4 years of the Plan. It is emphasised that licence is available under this allocation only for vehicles of Australian origin. (PART B).
-
In all cases licences can be used to import either new or second-hand goods.
