NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR AN ESSENTIAL WORK
PURSUANT TO SECTION 23 OF THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT 1981
NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland Regional Authority proposes to take under the Public Works Act 1981, the water supply tunnel easement over that portion of land described in the Schedule to this notice.
The portion of land across which the water supply easement is required is known as Alfiston Heights and is on Mill Road, Manukau City. The water supply easement is required to protect a water supply tunnel which the Auckland Regional Authority proposes to construct at a depth of approximately 20 to 60 metres, more or less, below the surface of the said land. The tunnel will be used for the conveyance of water by force of gravity from the Auckland Regional Authority’s filter station at Ardmore to its reservoirs at Redoubt Road, Manukau City.
The water supply tunnel is an essential work under the Public Works Act 1981 by reason of it being a public work required for water supply. The Auckland Regional Authority further considers it essential to acquire the water supply easement because the alignment of the water supply tunnel across the land is the best possible route to achieve the Authority’s water supply objective.
Any person wishing to object must send a written objection to the Registrar, The Planning Tribunal, Tribunals Division, Justice Department, Private Bag, Postal Centre, Wellington, within 20 days after publication of this notice.
SCHEDULE
THE easement area shown marked “B” on S.O. 59655, being part of that parcel of land situated on Mill Road, Manukau City, containing 4.5881 hectares, more or less, being Lot 2, Deposited Plan 55413 and being part Clendon’s Grant being the land comprised in certificate of title No. 6C/1106 (North Auckland Registry).
Subject to: Easement certificate No. A100696, memoranda of mortgage No. 484136.2, 579550.1 and B314604.1.
