PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

Colonel L. G. Williams, O.B.E., M.C., is re-engaged until 11 January 1987.

ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY
Captain (temp. Major) and Quartermaster E. G. Willbond, B.E.M., is re-engaged until 27 February 1988.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Colonel Commandant
Brigadier J. W. Mawson, C.B.E., M.V.O., Retired List, is appointed Colonel Commandant, Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps, for a period of 4 years with effect from 1 April 1986, vice Lieutenant Colonel J. Brown, C.V.O., Retired List.

THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS
Colonel Commandant
Lieutenant Colonel G. W. Butcher, M.C., E.D., Retired List, is appointed Colonel Commandant, The Corps of Royal N.Z. Engineers, for a period of 4 years with effect from 1 April 1986, vice Lieutenant Colonel K. Christie, M.B.E., E.D.*, Retired List.

Major R. A. Barrett to be acting Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 6 January 1986 and temp. Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 27 January 1986.

Captain P. W. Howard to be acting Major with effect from 11 January 1986.

2nd Lieutenant J. R. Armstrong, B.SC., to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 20 December 1985.

ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS
Captain (temp. Major) Arthur Isaac Francis Gumbley is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 25 January 1986.

Lieutenant K. M. Pascoe to be temp. Captain with effect from 20 December 1985.

ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY REGIMENT
Captain Kevin Ronald Arlidge, B.A.(MIL.), is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 4 January 1986.

Captain R. S. Gluer to be temp. Major with effect from 13 January 1986.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster W. J. Lillicrap to be temp. Captain and Quartermaster with effect from 9 January 1986.

Lieutenant Roger John McElwain, B.SC., is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement of 5 years in his present rank, with seniority from 6 January 1985 and effect from 6 January 1986.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) David John Gettins is transferred from the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, on a fixed engagement of 3 years in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 21 January 1984 and effect from 21 January 1986; to be temp. Captain with effect from 21 January 1986.

2nd Lieutenant J. B. Knight to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 20 December 1985.

2nd Lieutenant Rory Sloane McGregor is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement of 3 years in his present rank, with seniority and effect from 6 January 1986.

ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF TRANSPORT
Colonel Commandant
The appointment of Lieutenant Colonel R. J. Walton, C.M.G., O.B.E., Q.P.M., E.D., as Colonel Commandant, Royal N.Z. Corps of Transport, is extended for a further period of 2 years, with effect from 1 April 1986.

Captain (temp. Major) T. W. Parsons, B.ED., DIP.TCHG, DIP.ED., to be Major with seniority from 7 August 1985 and effect from 7 February 1986.
