4952 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 185
This is a proposed New Zealand Amendment to BS 4472:1969, which is declared as NZS 8601:1977. The draft Amendment incorporates technical changes which align with the revised British Standard (BS 6473:1984) to improve the protectiveness of skull caps. DZ 8602 Protective hats for horse and pony riders. $4.00 (incl. G.S.T.)
This draft Standard has been prepared to replace NZS 2259 which is a British Standard (BS 3686); BS 3686 has been withdrawn in Britain. The proposed Standard specifies requirements for protective hats to be worn by horse and pony riders. Manufacturing requirements are specified for the construction and finish of the hats, and for the materials to be used for the shell and other components.

Transport Licensing Authority Sitting
Pursuant to section 144 of the Transport Act 1962, the Dunedin District Transport Licensing Authority (F. H. K. Moore), gives notice of his intention to conduct a review of taxicab services being carried on in the Dunedin Transport District for the purpose of ascertaining whether or not those services are adequate to meet the reasonable public demand; whether or not those services are being carried on in an efficient manner; and whether or not the grant of additional licences would materially affect the economic stability of other holders of taxicab service licences. The review will be held on 8 December 1986 commencing at 9.30 a.m. in the Conference Room, Otago Southland Employers Association, 44 Dundas Street, Dunedin.

Pursuant to section 135 of the Transport Act 1962 the No. 11 District Transport Licensing Authority (F. H. K. Moore) gives notice of the receipt of the following application and will hold a public sitting in the Function Room, Ground Floor, State Insurance Building, Don Street, Invercargill on Wednesday, 10 December 1986 commencing at 9.30 a.m. to hear evidence for or against granting it.
A11/86/36 Graham Ashley Kidd, Invercargill. Amend Continuous Taxicab Service Licence No. 6593 by adding the right to carry general goods subject to the following special conditions: The licensee may carry unaccompanied general goods in conjunction with the service authorised when his cab is hired by an individual for the express purpose of carrying an item or items of goods, for and on behalf of the hirer, when the hirer does not wish to accompany such goods, provided however:
(a) Hiring shall be undertaken only through the radio-telephone facilities of the association to which the licensee belongs.
(b) Charges for these hirings shall be in accordance with the scale of taxi charges as approved from time to time by the Secretary for Transport.
(c) Goods must be carried in closed luggage boot, or when cab authority being carried in an approved vehicle that has no boot, e.g., in a van, then in the area designated for the carriage of luggage by the Ministry of Transport.
(d) Any one item of goods must not exceed 10 kgs gross weight.
(e) Neither the licensee nor the driver, nor any other person shall undertake any advertising or soliciting to encourage such hirings.
