Import Licence Tender Results

498 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 18

General Notes

TENDERS for Round 30 of import licence tenders close on 25 November 1985. Round 30 was the second call for Global tenders.

Results for the tender were notified to individual bidders on 6 December 1985 and on 16 December successful tenderers were asked to nominate the percentage of those successful bids they would want from 1 January to 30 June 1986 if the goods go to licence on demand (LOD).

These results are published on the basis of the bids lodged and have not been reduced to the nominated percentage where goods have gone LOD.

A 14-day period was allowed between the notification of individual results and their confirmation together with the payment, where applicable of 10 percent deposit on the premium bid. Where a deposit was not received the bidder is barred from further tendering for 2¼ years from 6 December 1985. Licence bid for, was reallocated where no deposit was paid.

Residual Licence

At the foot of the results of those tender numbers where all the licence put up for tender was not all taken, the Residual number of units and the price per unit is printed. Applications for any residual licence should be made on the “Request for Residual Licence” forms available from any office of the Department of Trade and Industry (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin) and should be sent to the Registrar of Tenders, P.O. Box 3146, Wellington. The envelope should be marked “Round 30 Residual” on the bottom right hand corner.

When demand for residual licence exceeds supply the computer is programmed to make a random selection.

Results of residual licence allocation will be made known as soon as possible by letter after the 3-week period for applications following the publication of these results.

Payment should not be made until invoices are received. Payment should be made by bank cheque preferably to avoid the 15 working days clearance for other cheques.

Licences still left over after this allocation of residuals will be available on request. Please refer to paragraphs 40 to 44 inclusive in the Guide Notes (October 1985).

Licence on Demand

Where the premiums bid in Round 19 and Round 30, on average, dropped to 7.5 percent or below, the Minister announced (24/1/86) that those goods will go to Licence on Demand on 1 July 1986. Those tender numbers which have gone LOD are marked with a “D” after the appropriate Tender Number in the repeat of the Round 30 Call published at the beginning of this Gazette.
