Commerce Act 1986: Merger or Takeover Proposal

NOTICE is hereby given of the following determination made by the Commerce Commission pursuant to section 66 (6) of the Commerce Act 1986.

Decision No. 171 (Ref. AUT/MT-N3/1): on 30 July 1986 the Commerce Commission determined to give a clearance of a proposal that New Zealand Equities Limited acquire up to 40 percent of the issued share capital in U.E.B. Holdings Ltd.

The full text of the commission’s written determination is available for inspection at the commission’s offices at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Copies may also be purchased on application to the Commission (P.O. Box 10-273, Wellington).

Notice Declaring Offices at Which Fishing Vessels May be Registered and Appointing Registrars of Fisheries (Notice No. 3853; Ag. 9/1/4)

PURSUANT to section 56 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Assistant Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, acting pursuant to a delegation from the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries (dated in Wellington on the 15th day of March 1986) hereby gives the following notice:

The following offices are declared as offices at which fishing vessels may be registered, and the designated officers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries are appointed as Registrars of Fisheries.

The notice published in the Gazette on 13 October 1983, No. 167, page 3391, declaring offices at which fishing vessels may be registered, is hereby revoked.

The notice published in the Gazette on 25 October 1984, No. 195, page 4598, appointing Registrars of Fisheries, is also hereby revoked.

This notice shall come into force on the day of its notification in the Gazette.

Notice of Intention to Assign Place Names by the New Zealand Geographic Board

PURSUANT to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the names set out in the first column of the Schedule hereto.

Pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, any person objecting to any such proposed name may, at any time within a 3 month period from the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette, give to the Secretary of the Board, care of the Department of Lands and Survey, Private Bag, Wellington, notice in writing of their objection. Plans showing the location of the features may be inspected at the office of the Chief Surveyor for the Department or at the office of the Secretary of the Board.

If no objections are received by the Board within the aforesaid period of 3 months, the Board’s decision as to any of the said proposed names will be final.
