PURSUANT to section 72 (6) of the Commerce Act 1975, notice is hereby given that the Examiner of Commercial Practices has consented to the following merger and takeover proposals.

Proposal

The National Mutual Life Association of Australasia Ltd. may acquire a further 1 200 153 ordinary 50c shares in Westpac Merchant Finance

Bricley Investments Ltd. may beneficially acquire 100 percent of the issued capital of Emco Group Ltd.

DB Taranaki Breweries Ltd. may acquire the chattels and wet and dry stock of the Normanby Hotel, Normanby

ASEA Electrical (NZ) Ltd. may acquire all the assets, stock and work in progress of the manufacturing and related activities of Electrix Ltd. from McConnell Dowell Corporation Ltd.

Ceramco Investments Ltd. may acquire up to 100 per-cent of the ordinary share capital of Weldwell (NZ) Ltd.

Corporate Investments Ltd. may acquire 100 percent of the shares in Jandals Holdings Ltd. and Jandals Manufacturing Ltd.
