  1. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (b), (d), (e) and (f) of regulation 13 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1984.

  2. The Electrical Supply Authority shall, 6 months prior to the expiry of the term of this licence provided in clause 7 herein, make written application to the Minister of Energy for the granting of a new licence.

SCHEDULE

AREA OF SUPPLY

All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point where the middle line of Cam Road joins the Christchurch Northern Motorway; thence easterly along the middle of said road to and across the Cam River to its left bank; thence generally north-easterly along that bank to and easterly and northerly along the southern (crossing Ranfurly Street), and eastern boundaries of Kaiapoi Maori Reserve 873, to and easterly along the middle of Williams Street; thence southerly along the middle of that street to the intersection of the middle lines of said street and Beach Road; thence easterly along the middle of Beach Road to a point in line with the eastern side of Ferry Road; thence southerly to and along that side of Ferry Road and its production to and westerly along the left bank of the Waimakariri River to and generally westerly along the left bank of the Kaiapoi River to a point due north of the intersection of the right bank of said river and the left bank of the Courtney Stream; thence southerly to and along the left bank of said stream to a point in line with the middle of Ohoka Road; thence westerly to and along the middle of said road to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 18, D.P. 18361; thence northerly to and along the western boundaries of said Lot 18 and R 4993 to the northernmost point of said R 4993; thence along a right line to the southernmost point of part Lot 1, D.P. 14016; thence northerly along the western boundary of said Lot 1 and its production across Fuller Street, the Railway Reserve and Adderley Terrace to the northern side of said terrace; thence easterly along said side and the right bank of the Kaiapoi River, and across that river in line with the eastern side of Hilton Street, to and northerly along the left bank of the aforesaid river to the eastern boundary of the Christchurch Northern Motorway; thence northerly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

The said area being more particularly shown outlined in black on the plan numbered NZE 2072 deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington.

North Canterbury Electric Power Board Electricity Supply Licence 1985

CONDITIONS

  1. This licence may be cited as the North Canterbury Electric Power Board Electricity Supply Licence 1985.

  2. The Electrical Supply Authority shall comply with the provisions of this licence, the Electricity Act 1968 and all enactments made in amendment of or substitution for that Act, any Electrical Codes of Practice made under that Act, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976 and all regulations made in amendment of or substitution for any of those regulations.

  3. Any notice to be given to the Electrical Supply Authority shall be sufficient if sent by registered post to the offices of the Electrical Supply Authority.

  4. Any notice to be given on the part of the Minister of Energy shall be sufficient if given in writing signed by the Minister or by any person purporting to act on behalf of or under the authority of the Minister.

  5. Any notice to be given to or sent by registered post letter addressed to the Secretary of Energy, Ministry of Energy, Wellington.

  6. This licence shall not be construed as granting a consent to generate electricity pursuant to section 25 of the Electricity Act 1968.

  7. This licence shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1985 and shall continue in force for a period of 21 years from that date unless it is sooner lawfully determined in accordance with clauses 8 or 9 hereof.

  8. The Governor-General in Council may pursuant to section 22 of the Electricity Act 1968 cancel this licence if the Electrical Supply Authority is in breach of the provisions contained in clause 2 of these conditions.

  9. This licence may be cancelled by the Minister of Energy at the request of or with the consent of the Electrical Supply Authority.

  10. At the expiry or cancellation of this licence, the Electrical Supply Authority shall as required by notice in writing by the Minister of Energy remove all buildings, poles and other machinery and other removable equipment authorised by the licence to be erected, installed or provided and if within 12 months after being so required the Electrical Supply Authority fails or neglects to remove the same, then the same shall, without payment of any compensation vest in and become the property of the Crown and it shall be lawful for any person authorised by the Minister of Energy in that behalf, subject to compliance with section 15A of the Electricity Act 1968 to enter upon any land or premises and take possession of and remove the same or any part thereof.

  11. Nothing contained in the licence, either expressly or by implication shall be deemed to authorise the Electrical Supply Authority to erect, construct or maintain any lines or works except subject to such conditions (not inconsistent with this licence) as may from time to time be lawfully imposed by any local authority within the district of which any such lines or works may be situated.

  12. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (h) and (j) if regulation 13 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1984. The system of supply authorised under paragraph (j) aforesaid shall be a single-conductor earth-return system of 11 000 volts between conductor and earth, and the use thereof shall be subject to such terms and conditions as are from time to time laid down by the Deputy Secretary of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington.

  13. The Electrical Supply Authority shall, 6 months prior to the expiry of the term of this licence provided in clause 7 herein, make written application to the Minister of Energy for the granting of a new licence.

All that area in the Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Waimakariri River, Block IV, Christchurch S.D. and proceeding generally north-westerly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 14216; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary, the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 17167 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the left (Western) Bank of the Styx River; thence southerly generally along that bank to a point in line with the northernmost corner of part Lot 3, D.P. 9363 (comprised in certificate of title 12F/259); thence westerly to and along the northern boundary of that part Lot and the generally northern boundary of Reserve 1835 to the eastern boundary of part Rural Section 18057 (comprised in certificate of title 539/16); thence southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of that section to the south-eastern boundary of part Reserve 1250; thence south-westerly along that boundary to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 11676 (comprised in certificate of title 11A/1025); thence westerly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of a water course (being the old bed of the Waimakariri River); thence generally westerly along the middle of that water course to a point in line with the middle of Shipley’s Road in Block VI, Christchurch S.D.; thence south-westerly along a right line to the south-eastern corner of said Lot 1, D.P. 34362; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of said Lot 1 to its south-western corner; thence along a right line to a point on the northern side of McLeans Island Road in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 35429; thence generally westerly along said roadside and the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 27680 to the south-westernmost corner of said Lot 1; thence due south to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 35430; thence north-westerly along said boundary to the north-western corner of said Lot 1; thence along a right line to a point in the middle of the Waimakariri River due south of the south-eastern corner of part Section 1, D.P. 3959, Block III, Rolleston S.D.; thence westerly, north-westerly and northerly along the middle of said river to a point due west of Trig.
