General Notes
ROUND 19 of import licence tenders included the sixth allocation of licence under the Plastic Industry Development Plan and the first allocation of licence under the expanded programme of global licence tenders.
Tenders in this Round were the first to become fully subject to the new Guide Notes on Import Licence Tendering published in November 1984.
Results of the tenders were notified to individual bidders in letters posted on 13 December 1984; invoices were dispatched on 7 January 1985 and are therefore payable by 6 June 1985; the import licences are valid from 7 January to 6 January 1986.
A 5-day period was allowed between the notification of individual results and their confirmation. During that time some errors were discovered by bidders and adjustments were made to the original results. Those affected by these changes have been notified.
Two tenders were withdrawn. These were tender numbers 2714 and 2715. Those products will be re-tendered shortly and for this reason the original results are not shown.
Two tenders were re-numbered. The computer could not accept the tenders shown in the Call for Tenders as 2552A and 2553B. They have been shown in these results as tender numbers 2785 and 2786 respectively.
Residual Licence
THE new Guide Notes make provision from Round 19 onwards for the issue of residual licence. Where not all the licence tendered is bid for, the results show the number of units left over. The results also show under each tender number the weighted average premium in rounded dollars at which these licences are available.
These residual licences are available on request. Application forms have been sent already to those on the Register of Tenders and a form is included with this Gazette.
Applications for residual licence close on 21 March 1985. All applications must be with the Registrar of Tenders by 5 p.m. on that day. The address is: Registrar of Tenders, P.O. Box 3146, Wellington and the envelope should be marked ‘Round 19 Residual’ on the bottom right hand corner.
Where demand exceeds supply the computer is programmed to make a random selection.
Results will be notified as soon as possible by letter. Payment should not be made until invoices are received. Payment should preferably be by bank cheque to avoid the 15 working day clearance for other cheques. Licence still left over after this allocation of residuals will be available on request. Please refer to paragraphs 38 to 44 inclusive in the Guide Notes.
