Redefining Purposes of Maori Reservation

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 439 (5) (c) of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953, the purposes for which the Maori reservation
was, in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto, created
by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, 18 September 1958, No. 57,
page 1233, are hereby redefined as landing place, fishing ground,
place of historical interest and source of revenue for the upkeep
and improvement of the marae Waiokura in the Maniaia district,
and the expenses of tribal hui concluded on such marae, and the
maintenance of the urupa of Ngatiru hapu of the Ngati Ruahine
tribe.

PURSUANT to section 439 (5) (b) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, part
of the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto, set
apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a recreation and
sports ground in association with the Takahiwi Marae for the
common use and benefit of the Maori community of Takahiwi is
hereby cancelled.

reservation of Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto

ground, beach reserve and recreation ground for the common use
and benefit of the Ngati Kura hapu of the Ngati Kahungunu iwi
by a notice dated the 24th day of September 1981 and published
in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 114, page 2684 is hereby cancelled.

Including Land in a Maori Reservation

WHEREAS by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, 12 April 1956,
No. 23, page 501, the land described in the First Schedule hereto
was set apart as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a meeting
place for the Ngati Toa tribe.

And whereas it is now desired to extend the reservation to include
the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Now therefore pursuant to section 439 (2) of the Maori Affairs
Act 1953, it is hereby declared that the land described in the Second
Schedule hereto is included in the aforesaid Maori Reservation.
