New Zealand by The Most Reverend Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, G.C.M.G.

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was graciously pleased, by a Commission passed
under the Seal of New Zealand, bearing date at Saint James's the 7th day of November 1985
to appoint me, The Most Reverend Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, to be Governor-General and
Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand.
Now, therefore, I, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief aforesaid, hereby
proclaim and declare that I have this day taken the prescribed oaths before the Right
Honourable Sir Ronald Keith Davison, Chief Justice of New Zealand, and that I have assumed
the said Office of Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand under
and by virtue of Her Majesty's said Commission.
Given under the hand of His Excellency The Most Reverend Sir Paul Alfred Reeves,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Principal Companion of The Queen's Service Order, Governor-General and
Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of New
Zealand, this 20th day of November 1985.
