New Zealand Railways Corporation: General Scale of Charges Notice, Amendment No. 8

PURSUANT to the New Zealand Railways Corporation Act 1981, the New Zealand Railways Corporation hereby makes the following alterations and additions to the General Scale of Charges dated the 9th day of July 1982,* and hereby declares that such alterations and additions shall come into force on the 10th day of February 1985 with the exception that the alterations and additions in respect of clauses 2.10.1, 2.10.2 and 2.10.4 shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1985.

2. Terms and Conditions on all Services

Clause 2.1.4 Tickets Purchased on a Service
Omit the word "When" in the first line of this clause and substitute in its place the words "Except in the case of the Auckland suburban system when".

Clause 2.3.5 Season Tickets
In the second line of this clause insert after the words "intermediate stations" the words "and in the case of the Auckland suburban system season tickets are available for travel up to the maximum number of stage points noted on the ticket. The availability of these tickets is".

Clause 2.9.2 Ten Trip Tickets
Omit the word "No" in the first line of this clause and substitute in its place the words "Except in the case of the Auckland suburban system where child ten trip tickets are available no".

Clause 2.10.1 Class 1 War Pensioners
In the third line of this clause after the words "are entitled to travel free", insert the words "on Corporation long distance passenger services".

Clause 2.10.2 Beneficiaries
In the second line of this clause after the words "available for fare concessions on Corporation", insert the words "long distance".

Insert after clause 2.10.3 the following new clause:

"Clause 2.10.4 Urban Area
In urban areas where financial assistance towards road or rail services is provided by the Regional or Local Authority the availability of concessions for Social Welfare Beneficiaries shall be in accordance with any conditions imposed by that Regional or Local Authority or any other body having jurisdiction in this respect".
