Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a place of historic interest and a meeting place for the common use and benefit of Celia Phillips Bird and the descendants of Kiekie Hopai.

Declaration That Land is a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Oroua County Council on the 5th day of June 1985.

"That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977, the Oroua County Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by the said council in fee simple and, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be, in the same as hereby, declared to be a recreation reserve within the meaning of the said Act."

Appointment of the Minister of Internal Affairs to Control and Manage a Reserve and Declaration That the Said Reserve Shall Be Subject to the Provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve Specifying the Manner of Disposal and How Proceeds of Sale Shall be Utilised

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation as a recreation reserve over the land, described in the Schedule hereto, and further declares that the said land may be disposed of by The Whangarei County Council at current market value, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid into Council’s reserves account, such monies to be used and applied in or towards the improvement of other reserves under the control of Council, or in or towards the purchase of other land for reserves.
