Declaration of Toxic Substances as Poisons and Harmful Substances

PURSUANT to section 7 (8) of the Toxic Substances Act 1979, and
regulation 5 of the Toxic Substances Regulations 1983, the Minister
of Health hereby declares:

  1. TERBUFOS; in all liquid preparations of terbufos and in all solid
    preparations containing 10 percent or more terbufos, to be a deadly poison.

  2. FENTHION ETHYL; in all liquid preparations containing 25
    percent or more of fenthion ethyl:

NARASIN; in all liquid preparations containing 8 percent or
more of narasin and in all solid preparations containing 30 percent
or more of narasin:

PROPETAMPHOS; in all liquid preparations containing 30
percent or more of propetamphos:

TERBUFOS; in all solid preparations containing less than 10
percent of terbufos—
to be dangerous poisons.

  1. FENTHION ETHYL; in all liquid preparations containing less
    than 25 percent of fenthion ethyl and in all solid preparations
    containing 10 percent or more of fenthion ethyl:

FLUORIDES; including silicofluorides, except substances con-
taining fluorides in proportions equivalent to 0.1 percent or less
of elemental fluoride, and except hydrofluoric acid:

IODINE; in all preparations containing more than 2.6 percent
of iodine:

IMAZALIL; and its salts, in all liquid preparations containing
15 percent or more imazalil or its salts and in all solid preparations
containing 65 percent or more of imazalil or its salts:

NARASIN; in all liquid preparations containing less than 8
percent of narasin and in all solid preparations containing less
than 30 percent but 3 percent or more of narasin:

PROPETAMPHOS; in all liquid preparations containing less
than 30 percent of propetamphos and in all solid preparations
containing 12 percent or more of propetamphos—
to be standard poisons.

  1. FENTHION ETHYL; in all solid preparations containing less
    than 10 percent of fenthion ethyl:

IMAZALIL; and its salts, in all liquid preparations containing
less than 15 percent but containing 10 percent or more of imazalil
or its salts, and in solid preparations containing less than 65
percent but containing 15 percent or more imazalil or its salts:

PROPETAMPHOS; in all solid preparations containing less
than 12 percent of propetamphos—
to be harmful substances.

  1. FLUORIDE; in preparations for internal use by man containing
    2.2 milligrams or less of fluorides per dosage unit; and in
    substances containing fluorides in proportion equivalent to 0.1
    percent of elementary fluorine:

IODINE and solutions thereof containing more than 2.6 percent
of iodine—
not to be standard poisons.

Sale of Wanganui Harbour Board Land

I, Richard William Prebble, Minister of Transport, having obtained
the concurrence of the Minister of Finance pursuant to section
143A (3) of the Harbours Act 1950, hereby approve pursuant to
section 143A (1) (a) and section 143C (1) (b) (i) of the said Act the
sale of land referred to in the Schedule hereto by the Wanganui
Harbour Board pursuant to section 143C of the said Act, and I
specify that this approval is effective from the date hereof.


SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land containing 1024, square metres, more or
less, situated in the City of Wanganui, being Lot 3 on Deposited
Plan 34223, and comprising all of the land described in certificate
of title, Volume 14b, folio 1155.

Notice of Application to Take Marine Mammals
(No. 3596: Ag. 9/6/16/1)

PURSUANT to section 5 (5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act
1978, notice is hereby given that the New Zealand Salmon Company
Limited has applied to install a sonar deterrent device at its salmon
sea pen operation at Big Glory Bay, Stewart Island to discourage
seals. Further details of the proposal may be obtained from the
Director, Fisheries Management Division, Ministry of Agriculture
and Fisheries, Private Bag, Wellington.

Any person or organisation wishing to make representations
relating to this application must forward their representation in
writing to reach me on or before 18 November 1985.

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional
Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration
agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education and
the proprietor of the following school:

St Mary’s School, Pawarenga.

The said supplementary integration agreement comes into effect on
26 September 1985. Copies of the supplementary integration
agreement are available for inspection without charge by any
member of the public at the Department of Education, Head Office,
National Mutual Building, Featherston Street, Wellington, and at
regional offices.
