East Coast Bays City—Takapuna City Boundary Definition
Notice 1985

PURSUANT to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the East Coast Bays City—Takapuna City Boundary Definition Notice 1985.

  2. The boundaries of East Coast Bays City and Takapuna City are hereby defined as set out in the Schedules hereto, those boundaries having been altered by Order in Council published in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 March 1984, No. 49, page 928 and which came into force on 1 April 1984.

FIRST SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF EAST COAST BAYS CITY

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, City of East Coast Bays containing 1580 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the middle line of Awaruku Creek, being a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 78206 (Esplanade Reserve), in Block XVI, Waiwera Survey District; and proceeding south-westerly along the middle of the said creek to the north-eastern parapet of the road access bridge to the Long Bay Regional Reserve; thence south-easterly along that parapet and its production to the middle line of Beach Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of Beach Road to a point in line with the southern boundaries of Lots 3, 2 and 1, D.P. 90686 and Lot 8, D.P. 40798, along a right line across Moorgreen Heights, to and along the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 68341, to its westernmost corner; thence northerly along a right line being the production of the western boundary of the aforesaid Lot 1 to the middle line of Glenvar Road; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the middle of the said road and East Coast Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of part Allotment 442, Paremoremo Parish (Secondary School, New Zealand Gazette, 1968, page 1085); thence south-westerly along the generally north-western and south-western boundaries of the aforesaid Allotment 442 to the north-western boundary of Allotment NW 197, Takapuna Parish; thence south-westerly, south-easterly and north-easterly along the north-western, south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Allotment NW 197, to the westernmost corner of part Lot 26, D.P. 41853; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid part Lot 26, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 42732 and the last boundary produced to the middle line of East Coast Road; thence southerly along the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 34131, in Block VIII, Waimata Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line, and along the aforesaid north-western boundary, to its westernmost corner; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of the aforesaid Lot 2, and part Lot 4, D.P. 54805 to its southernmost corner; thence north-easterly along the generally south-eastern boundaries of the said part Lot 4, to the southernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 54805; thence north-westerly and north-easterly, along the south-western and north-eastern boundaries of the last mentioned Lot 3, and the last boundary produced to the middle line of East Coast Road; thence southerly along the middle of East Coast Road and Forrest Hill Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of part Allotment 249, Takapuna Parish; thence north-easterly along a right line, to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said part Allotment 249, (Recreation Reserve, New Zealand Gazette, 1961, page 847) to the northernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 64704; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of the last mentioned Lot 2, and along a right line across Beach Road, to the westernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 44038; thence easterly along the southern boundary of that Lot, to the line of mean high water of the Hauraki Gulf; thence northerly generally along the said line of mean high water to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF TAKAPUNA CITY

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, City of Takapuna, containing 8636 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VI, Waimata Survey District, on the left bank of Paremoremo Creek, in line with the easternmost boundary of part Allotment 7 (8 a 2 r 00.7 p) Paremoremo Parish, and proceeding northerly along a right line across the aforesaid creek,

to and along the said eastern boundary and that boundary produced to the middle line of Brookdale Road; thence northerly generally along the middle of the aforesaid road, Ridge Road, O’Brien Road and State Highway No. 18, in Block III, Waimata Survey District to the middle line of State Highway No. 1; thence easterly generally along the middle of the last mentioned Highway, Albany Heights Road and Lonely Track Road, to the middle line of East Coast Road in Block IV, Waimata Survey District; thence north-westerly along the middle of East Coast Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of part Lot 4, D.P. 32247; thence northerly along a right line, to and along the said eastern boundary and the eastern boundaries of part Lots 1 and 2, Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6, D.P. 65500, Lot 1, D.P. 32247, part Allotment SE 294 and part Allotment NW 294, Pukeatua Parish, to its northernmost corner; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the last mentioned allotment to its junction in Block XVI, Waiwera Survey District, with the right bank of a tributary of the Okura River; thence northerly generally along the said right bank, to the middle line of Okura River to the Hauraki Gulf; thence southerly along the line of mean high water of the Hauraki Gulf, to the middle line of Awaruku Creek; thence south-westerly along the middle of that creek to the north-eastern parapet of the road access bridge to the Long Bay Regional Reserve; thence south-easterly along that parapet and its production to the middle line of Beach Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of Beach Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 3, 2 and 1, D.P. 51779; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Lots 3, 2 and 1, D.P. 90686 and Lot 8, D.P. 40798, along a right line across Glenvar Road, to and along the northern boundaries of Lots 34, 35, and 36 D.P. 68341, in Block XVI, Waiwera Survey District, along a right line to its westernmost corner; thence northerly along a right line being the production of the western boundary of the aforesaid Lot 1, to the middle line of Glenvar Road; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the middle of the said road and East Coast Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of part Allotment 442 Paremoremo Parish, (Secondary School, New Zealand Gazette, 1968, page 1085); thence south-westerly along a right line, to and along the north-western, south-western, and south-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Allotment NW 197, to the westernmost corner of part Lot 26, D.P. 41853; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid part Lot 26, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 42732 and the last boundary produced to the middle line of East Coast Road; thence southerly along the middle of East Coast Road, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of part Allotment 249, Takapuna Parish; thence south-westerly along the generally south-western boundaries of the aforesaid part Allotment 249, to its westernmost corner; thence north-easterly along the generally south-eastern boundaries of the said part Lot 4, to the southernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 54805; thence north-westerly and north-easterly, along the south-western and north-eastern boundaries of the last mentioned Lot 3, and the last boundary produced to the middle line of East Coast Road; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of the last mentioned Lot 2, and along a right line across Beach Road, to the westernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 44038; thence easterly along the southern boundary of that lot, to the line of mean high water of the Hauraki Gulf; thence westerly along the northern boundary of that lot, along a right line across Hamaua Street, to and along the northern boundaries of Lots 18 and 48, along a right line across Merani Street, to and along the northern boundaries of Lots 49 and 77, the northern end of Hemi Street, and the northern boundary of Lot 78, all the aforesaid lots being of D.P. 7449, along the northern boundary of Lot 11, Deeds Plan 97, along a right line across Wicklow Road, to and along the northern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 88071, Lots 14, 13, 12, 8 and part Lot 4, D.P. 37880, and Lot 1, D.P. 38166, to the eastern side of Lake Road; thence southerly along a right line across Lake Road to the northernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 30904; thence south-westerly generally along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said Lot 2, and the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 40447, and the north-western boundaries of Lots 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17 and 18, D.P. 46166
